Know Your Season

Often we go through life striving to be and do things we were never created to do. We put ourselves in a season we aren't supposed to be in or, worse, not embrace the season that we are in. But how can you know the season you are in if you don't ask the one who knows everything about you? GOD

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV."

A few months ago, while talking with my best friend, she shared things she learned in bible study. I don't recall everything that she shared, but I remember a powerful question she presented.

"Ask the Lord, "God reveal what season I'm in." At first, I was like, "That's it?" That is such a simple question to ask but yet I never thought of it on my own.

"Call to me, and I will answer you, and tell you [ and even show you] great and mighty things,[things which have been confined and hidden], which you don't know and understand and cannot distinguish Jeremiah 33:3 AMP."

Often we can get caught up in our minds that we have to talk to God a certain way, pray for this amount of time, or even read our bible for hours to be "right' with God. Friend, I'm here to tell you that's ALL religion! We can literally approach God like a friend. But don't approach Him with no expectation. Approach Him with the expectation that you are about to be radically encountered by the living God.

"In whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him [ that is, our faith gives us sufficient courage to freely and openly approach God through Christ] Ephesians 3:12 AMP

So the very next day, I went on a drive and sat at the park. And I just began to worship God until I felt His tangible presence. Then I started to ask questions. One of them being for him to show me the season I was in.

Instantly, I was given a vision. I was walking steadfast with purpose in the vision, and as I was walking, I began to bloom flowers from head to toe literally.

"...I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams Numbers 12:6."

I won't share everything that was revealed to me at that moment. But I will share there is nothing like receiving true direction for your life. The living God of the bible has a purpose for your life.

After having this vision (in my mind's eye), I looked up, and literally before me was a beautiful tree in bloom! This wrecked me! I thought I was in one season in my life, but God showed me something different. He showed me the lies the enemy was telling me. Believing lies will leave you confused and angry at God because you will feel that you have been abandoned or don't need Him.

Seek God with a childlike expectation that He wants to talk to you. The Creator of the universe desires a personal relationship with you! He wants to reveal to you want season you're in and more!

Take a moment to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what season you're in!

God wants to encounter you!
